We are clinicians serving in an impoverished area of the world where we find ourselves often without electricity, let alone the necessary and appropriate tools for adequate healthcare. Many days we see very common pathology and can handle it often with education or simple medicines. However, being in this region of the world, sometimes outlandish disease processes come across our paths. ERMD has been there to give us Medical Direction in next steps forward in assessing, treating, or referring patients. Having an organization like ERMD in our “back pocket” to be able to assist us during complicated or urgent scenarios has felt like a priceless safety-net that covers us 24/7/365.
