Our Communication Platform
In order to assist those serving abroad, a robust communication platform is required. Our team uses a HIPPA compliant web and app-based medical platform to serve these needs. We use Spruce. Spruce enables our providers to communicate via video call, voice, or text. This allows our providers to interact with clients in real-time, permits uploading of laboratory results, radiology reports, or pictures of ailments (such as rashes, lacerations, infectious areas, etc). This platform functions as the electronic health record (EHR) and gives our providers the ability to have client information readily accessible for follow-up questions or concerns.
Each client will need their own account as it functions as their unique EHR. The same way that you check-in at an ER and have a record matched to you, is your unique account for each individual member of the unit or family. Similarly to a hospital record service, this prevents information from being confused with another family member should they sign on to the same account. Services from ERMD cannot be used if a Spruce account is not created and requires a US-based phone number. Many of our clients use Google Voice, for example, for this requirement while living abroad. Follow the set up instructions from the website or use the QR code on your mobile device.
