A situation recently presented itself where there was a young male experiencing increasing seizures. They originally presented as complex febrile seizures that progressed into a more complicated case and was outside of scope of understanding of the parents and local care team. ERMD was contacted and the direction given was to urgently leave the country to find a higher level of Pediatric Neurologic care. Had this direction not been delivered, this patient may have suffered permanent neurologic damage. An appropriate diagnosis was discovered, treatment options implemented, and patient status improved as a result of successful medical direction.
